Guest Preacher

This week we will be led by Rev. Heather Sigler in worship.

Heather was baptized and confirmed here at Pine Street.  Her family left Pine Street to become charter members of Christ Presbyterian Church in Lower Allen Township.  She is a graduate of Gove City College (BA), Penn State (M.Ed.), and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M.Div.) She also studied at the American University of Beirut in Beirut Lebanon.
Her professional career includes service as a college administrator, high school English teacher, and owner/coach/judge of Narragansett School of Gymnastics.  As an ordained pastor, she served First Presbyterian Church, Sayre, before being called back to Carlisle Presbytery to become its first Associate for Congregational Ministries. After retirement, Heather served as a Parish Associate at Pine Street until August 2022.
Heather has three adult children, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  She enjoys travel, especially if it involves being on the water, Sudoku puzzles and mystery novels fill her free time.

3rd in the Burg

Great News! This Friday April 19th is 3rd in the Burg and we have our friend and Multi-instrumentalist Henry Koretzky joining us from 7pm-8pm!

Henry Koretzky has been performing as a mandolinist, guitarist, and singer since the 1980s.  He has played in a wide variety of groups and styles, from bluegrass (Cornerstone, High Strung, Sweetwater Reunion) to klezmer (Old World Folk Band) to contradance music (Medicinal Purpose), as well as swing and jazz, Celtic, and folk. More recently Henry is still involved with The Harrisburg Mandolin Ensemble and The Contra Rebels.

Book Club to Meet

Pine Street Book Club will meet on Sunday, April 21, at 7 PM at the home of Joan Hays.  Pam Bauer will lead a discussion of “The Boy and the Dog” by Seishu Hase.  Joan must be notified by Thursday, April 18, by phone (717) 766-4179 or email khays92494@aol.com if you plan to attend.

Nature Walk

Let’s put on our walking shoes and finally get out to explore what nature has to offer. God amazes us with lots of new growth every spring! So, let’s explore Harrisburg’s Wildwood Nature Trail with our guide, Evan Wilson.

Baseball game

Sunday June 23,2024 Picnic food available from 12-2p. Game starts at 1pm.
Cost for both picnic and game is as follows:
ages 13 and older- $30
children 4-12-$20
Kids under 4 free!

April Giving Barrel
Pine Street’s Mission Committee has dedicated April’s Giving Barrel to the homeless and hospitalized veterans.  Our donated items will be appropriately sorted and delivered to the two groups of veterans.  Below are listed the items that are most needed and requested. Let’s fill the Barrel for those who have given much for our country.

Items needed are:

  • small bottles of water
  • large and small bottles of sunscreen
  • small and large bottles of body lotion
  • 3 in 1 bottles of body wash
  • brushes and combs (no rat tails)
  • small boxes of band-aids
  • reading glasses

All these items can be found at the Dollar Tree.  Thank you!!
