A year after his retirement, The Rev. Doug Brouwer walked the Camino across northern Spain, a 500-mile pilgrimage dating back to the ninth century. Doug will tell about his experience (with slides) and explore the meaning of pilgrimage today, the inner and the outer journeys. Rev. Douglas J. Brouwer was ordained to the ministry of word and sacrament at Pine Street in September 1980 and was an associate pastor for five years. He then served churches in Illinois, Michigan, and Florida, and retired in 2018 from the International Protestant Church in Zürich, Switzerland. A memoir about his 40 years of ministry, Chasing After Wind: A Pastor’s Life, will be published later this year. Doug can be contacted at 17260 South Street, Holland, Michigan 49424.
