The Rev. Cheryl D. Galan, Interim Executive Presbyter, Presbytery of Carlisle will lead us in this study. With all of that we’ve been through in the past year, living with uncertainty has become our new normal. We barely get our bearings before the situation changes again. For churches, ordinarily accustomed to the stability of familiar routines and the comforts of Christian community, the disruptions caused by the pandemic heighten our sense of vulnerability. With a pastoral transition on the horizon, both anxiety and anticipation may be high, as you wonder what comes next. What might we learn from the biblical witness and from each other, that can help us now? Through a guided conversation we’ll look for evidence of God at work in our current situation, that we may access the wisdom and peace that allow us to move forward, in hope. Rev. Cheryl D. Galan is the Interim Executive Presbyter with Carlisle Presbytery. A graduate of Grove City College, Cheryl formerly served the Derry, Faith and Market Square congregations as a Christian Educator. After receiving the M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary, Cheryl served as a pastor with congregations in New York, Kansas, and Wisconsin and as the Transitional Leader of the Presbytery of Elizabeth in New Jersey. She and her husband Jack live in Camp Hill. Cheryl’s sense of call to presbytery leadership is grounded in her deep love for the church and strong hope that God is transforming congregations for the sake of Christ’s mission in the world.
