Mr. Peltier reached many musical milestones before adulthood. He first performed with an orchestra at the age of nine, and, by his teens, he tackled Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto no. 1 with the Lamont Symphony in Denver. A Julliard alumnus, who studied under Yoheved Kaplinsky, Mr. Peltier is the winner of numerous competitions, including the Julliard Concerto Competition, Aspen Conducting Academy Piano Competition, and the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. Whether performing solo or with an orchestra, Colton is an expressive player, who delivers assured performances with a fluid technique.
A King’s College, Cambridge tradition for more than a century, a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a service of Christian worship. Since World War II, it has been estimated that each year millions of listeners enjoy the service live on the BBC World Service. The story of humanity’s fall, the promise of the Messiah, and Jesus’s birth is told in nine scripture readings, interspersed with the singing of carols, hymns, and anthems.
