Upcoming Adult Forum Series
Wednesdays, March 1 through 29
7:30 pm via Zoom
This Lent you are invited into the wilderness. We will not go alone, nor will we reside there forever, for new life and Easter await us. The wilderness can be a frightening place, but it can also be a place of transformation and new insight. We will explore the themes of blessing, presence, connection, rest, and grief through the metaphor of the wilderness. We will be aided by the team at A Sanctified Art with their poetry, insights, and art. Each Lenten gathering will include an exploration of Scripture as well as a spiritual practice that we might allow the text to touch not only our heads but our hearts. These gatherings will be lead by Rev. Kelly Wiant who is passionate about Spiritual Practices and loves to explore the places that Scripture meets our lives. She is a pastor living in Harrisburg, PA with her wife, Kristen, their six-year-old daughter, Cora, and seven pets (two dogs and five cats). Kelly serves as a virtual consultant for worship and Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in Palo Alto, CA and hopes to facilitate a new worshipping community to address the needs and desires of the LGBTQ+ community in the Harrisburg area. Before this, Kelly served as the associate pastor at Market Square Presbyterian Church for 20 years. Kelly is passionate about the monarch butterfly, gardening, raising a strong and courageous daughter, and tending to her personal animal kingdom.

Last Call for Camp Curtain Donations
This is a reminder that any donations you may still be considering for Camp Curtin Academy will need to be made by this coming Sunday, February 26th. This is the last collection day for individual snacks and personal-sized hand sanitizers. In our ongoing relationship with this city school, we are supporting their concerns for students’ food insecurities and health issues. Your response to this mission project has been heartwarming.

New Handrail in Sanctuary
You will have to look carefully to notice the new handrails in the sanctuary. The metalsmith did such a wonderful job that they look like they have always belonged there! Thank you to those who donated the funds to help us make our sanctuary a safer and more accessible place for all.

Current COVID Procedure
Pine Street Presbyterian Church will follow CDC guidelines to ease masking requirements and allow in-person gatherings, including food. While Dauphin and Cumberland Counties are in the low or medium community levels (according to the CDC’s “COVID-19 by County” page found at:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html). Masks will be optional for all Pine Street events, including worship. Session and staff will monitor the community levels and change health and safety guidelines if the local counties are high. Worshipers are welcome to wear masks if that helps them feel comfortable in worship.
