Funeral Services for Harold Heisey
Tomorrow we will have an opportunity to mourn the death of our friend and brother in Christ, Harold Heisey.
At 10:00 am on Thursday morning there will be a visitation in the church Gathering Space. At 11:00 am Harold’s funeral will take place in the sanctuary. The funeral will be immediately followed by a graveside committal service at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Please join us as you are able as we celebrate Harold’s life, mourn his death, and bear witness to the resurrection.

A Special Request from the Deacons
We would like to ask the congregation to participate in a card shower (cards or notes of encouragement) for Michael Shoemaker, who is currently in hospice care. These can be sent to his new address:

Note from Presbytery Regarding Ukraine
Thanks for your generosity!

We’ve received word that through an outpouring of generous support from members of Derry Presbyterian Church along with members and churches of Carlisle Presbytery, and community members, Derry Church was able to provide, with matching funds from the Session, $71,500 to help our neighbors in Ukraine. The funds were split between two organizations: CARE International and Voices of Children Foundation in Ukraine.

In addition, in the month of March, the Presbytery of Carlisle received $1,307 in gifts to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and/or One Great Hour of Sharing. We know that many of our churches continue to invite Ukraine relief offerings that will be shared directly with relief agencies, such as PDA. 32% of our One Great Hour of Sharing offerings go to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

At this time, as we pray fervently for peace, our financial gifts are already at work assisting those who have been displaced by war. In the humanitarian crisis faced by the people of Ukraine and surrounding countries, PDA is working with partners to provide basic items for survival.

Thank you for sharing God’s love through your generous gifts.

Blessings,

Cheryl Galan, Interim Executive Presbyter

These shoes were made for walkin’!

Check the white barrel in the Gathering Place. It is already 1/4 full of shoes that are wearable and clean! Thanks to those who have already contributed to our mission project. We shall hopefully have shoes filling and tumbling out of the barrel by the end of April. We invite you to bring boots, crocs, slippers, high heels, sneakers, loafers – any type shoe. We all have some we have not worn in years… so place them in a bag, buckle or tie them together and throw them in the barrel…look for the sign that marks the place! We will take them to Mission Central to be sent to places here and around the world!

Thank You!!
A special thank you to Carol and Michael Putt, who graciously donated their button-making machine to the church. We hope to make buttons for Artsfest to hand out to children who contribute their artistic talents at Pine Street’s booth.
