Around the Church for April 13, 2022

Thank you for Your Service, Michelle!
Michelle has accepted a full-time position at Downtown Daily Bread and will be starting on April 25th so, please plan to attend the Coffee Fellowship after church on April 24th to wish Michelle Ortega, our custodian and friend, your best wishes as this will be her last day with us. At that time, the church will be giving Michelle a monetary gift as a warm thank you for a job well done. If you would like to contribute to this gift, you may send your check to Steve Messner.

We hope many of you will be able to join us to wish Michelle well.

Updates from Session
Session has scheduled the Annual Meeting of the Congregation for May 1, 2022, immediately after the end of worship. Please plan on staying a little later than usual to participate in electing officers for the coming term and other business affecting our Pine Street community!

We also approved a contract for some much needed repairs to the sewer pipes in the basement of the church. Construction won’t begin until we have consistently warmer weather.

Plans are underway for a Pine Street booth and children’s art project at KidsFest (part of ArtsFest) over Memorial Day weekend, and we will soon be seeking volunteers to help us reach out to young artists in our neighborhood!

These Shoes Are Really Multiplyin’

The Extending God’s Love Team thanks you sincerely for the wonderful response to the April Shoe Drive.
The overflowing barrel of footwear must wish it could dance! The good news is that there are two weeks left to fill it again. Any kind of footwear is welcome if still usable. Be sure the pair is fastened by laces or even strong rubber bands. And truly, isn’t your shoe rack in much better shape? Thanks for sharing.

Current COVID Procedure
Pine Street Presbyterian Church will follow CDC guidelines to ease masking requirements and allow in-person gatherings, including food. While Dauphin and Cumberland Counties are in the low or medium community levels (according to the CDC’s “COVID-19 by County” page found at
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html). Masks will be optional for all Pine Street events, including worship. Session and staff will monitor the community levels and change health and safety guidelines if the local counties are high. Worshipers are welcome to wear masks if that helps them feel comfortable in worship.
